‘A powerful production…. an important story, ….gripping and very intense.’
‘I cared, we all cared, about Duwayne Brooks. We shared his pain and later we were uplifted by his victory. He became real for us - what better justification is there for theatre?’ Fringe Review 2014

Gail Louw has pulled absolutely no punches in telling the story of Duwayne Brooks.. Superbly enacted by a committed and highly talented cast, Duwayne is a play that will live long in the memory of all who see it.’ LoveFringe 2014

Fast paced often shocking scenes highlighting the despair of Duwayne and the differing faces of the metropolitan police are wonderfully portrayed by an absolutely amazing cast.
A must see!’ LoveFringe 2014 |
Traumatised by his best friend’s murder, Duwayne Brooks was treated as a potential criminal instead of a witness. He faced years of torment by those who should have been on his side. Harassed by police on trumped up charges and hounded incessantly over the years, Duwayne faced the impossible struggle of challenging what life appeared to have in store.
Based on fact, this new play by Gail Louw reveals the truth behind the headlines.
